Portfolio: In the Shalford Wilderness

On 23 October 2012, I walked from Guildford to Shalford, following the river Wey and the Wey Navigation. A sign informed me I was in the Shalford Wilderness.

Fog in the trees, water on the ground, sedge ditches with rotting fallen trees, dripping gorse bushes.

Spiders webs glistened in the dim light, The spiders were not visible but I sensed they were watching me. They texted me in their language.

The gorse bushes were impenetrable. I could see their breathing. In the air...descending particles. Everthing suspended between decay and growth.
